Among the largest are Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu (2,501 students); Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tinggi Kota Kinabalu (2,280 students); Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kolombong (2,004 students); Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Lok Yuk Likas (1,876 students); Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Putatan (1,700 students).
