How to Revise SPM Physics in 3 Months

With three months left, spend the first weeks auditing all 13 chapters and repairing your weakest ones, the middle weeks drilling calculations and Paper 3 skills, and the final weeks on timed past papers with an error log. Consistent short sessions beat occasional long ones, and Form 4 must stay in the rotation.

Weeks 1 to 4: audit and repair

Start by finding out where you actually stand:

  • List all 13 chapters and rate each honestly as strong, shaky or weak.
  • Attack the weak chapters first, when your energy and time are greatest.
  • For each weak chapter, relearn the core ideas, rebuild the formulas from memory, and redo two or three key experiments on paper.

Do not spend these early weeks reviewing what you already know well; that feels productive but changes little.

Weeks 5 to 8: drill skills

Now shift from learning to doing:

  • Work sets of calculation questions across chapters until the method is automatic.
  • Practise Paper 3 graphs and experiment questions weekly.
  • Practise matching command words to answer depth on structured questions.

Keep one weekly slot for Form 4 so it never goes cold, since SPM tests both years.

Weeks 9 to 12: timed past papers

In the final stretch, simulate the exam:

  • Do full past papers under timed conditions, not loose questions.
  • Mark them strictly and keep an error log of every repeated mistake.
  • Use trial and past-paper results to decide where the last hours go.

Make the plan stick

Short daily sessions, spaced across the week, retain far more than one long weekend cram. Track chapters as you complete them so you can see progress. If one or two chapters stay stubborn as the exam nears, focused one-to-one help on exactly those topics is an efficient use of limited time.

Frequently asked questions

Is 3 months enough to revise SPM Physics?
Yes, if you use it well. Audit your chapters, fix the weakest first, then move to timed past papers. Consistent short sessions matter more than total hours.
Should I revise Form 4 during the final 3 months?
Yes. SPM tests both Form 4 and Form 5, so keep a weekly Form 4 slot so those chapters stay fresh alongside Form 5 revision.
When should I start timed past papers?
In the last month, once your weak chapters are repaired. Do full papers under timed conditions and keep an error log of repeated mistakes.
