What SPM 2026 Physics assesses

If you are sitting Physics in the 2026 SPM cycle, you are tested on the full KSSM 4531 syllabus: all six Form 4 chapters and all seven Form 5 chapters. The papers do not separate the two years, so treat Form 4 as examinable material, not old work.

How the papers are structured

SPM Physics uses three papers:

  • Paper 1 is objective (multiple-choice) questions across the whole syllabus.
  • Paper 2 is written, combining structured questions with longer response questions that ask you to explain, calculate and evaluate.
  • Paper 3 is the practical-based paper, focused on experiment skills: handling data, plotting graphs, and planning investigations.

The exact number of questions, durations and mark allocations are set and confirmed by Lembaga Peperiksaan. Always check the current official format rather than relying on older papers alone.

Dates and timetable

SPM examination dates are confirmed by Lembaga Peperiksaan and published in the official timetable. Lembaga Peperiksaan has published the SPM 2026 timetable: Physics Paper 1 and Paper 2 are on Thursday 3 December 2026 and the Paper 3 practical is on 16 November 2026. Plan your revision around these confirmed dates.

A sensible pace for 2026 candidates

  • Map the 13 chapters against the weeks you have left and give the abstract, formula-heavy chapters more time.
  • Rotate Form 4 and Form 5 so both stay warm; do not leave Form 4 until the end.
  • Move into full past-paper practice under timed conditions well before the trials, then use trial results to target weak chapters.
  • Keep Paper 3 skills, especially graph work, in your weekly routine rather than saving them for last.

No one can predict which questions will appear, so the aim is broad, secure coverage. If a whole chapter is shaky, focused one-to-one help on that topic can save weeks of slow solo revision.
