The final month is for consolidation, not for learning everything from scratch. The most effective study is active recall: close the book and try to reproduce definitions, formulas and experiment steps from memory, then check what you missed. Passive rereading feels productive but rarely fixes gaps.

Balance your time across the whole syllabus, but give a little extra to your two or three weakest chapters, since that is where the easiest gains are.

The technique that moves the needle late in preparation is full timed papers. Practising complete papers under exam conditions builds pacing and stamina and reveals careless habits while there is still time to correct them.

A simple weekly plan: two or three chapters of active recall, several sets of mixed structured questions, and one full timed paper with honest self-marking. Keep a one-page formula sheet you write yourself and read it daily.

Key tips

  • Use active recall, not passive rereading, as your main method.
  • Write your own one-page formula sheet and read it daily.
  • Do at least one full timed paper each week with honest self-marking.
  • Give slightly more time to your two or three weakest chapters.

In short

In the final month, prioritise active recall and full timed papers over rereading notes. Target weak topics, drill technique, and build a personal formula sheet.

How to put this into practice

  • Use active recall, not passive rereading, as your main method.
  • Write your own one-page formula sheet and read it daily.
  • Do at least one full timed paper each week with honest self-marking.
  • Give slightly more time to your two or three weakest chapters.

A routine that works

Work backwards from the paper: list the chapters, rate your confidence in each, and give the weak ones more time. Do timed past-style papers, mark your own working line by line, and turn each lost mark into a fixed habit, units on every line, one-sentence definitions, labelled diagrams.

No grade is guaranteed; steady practice is what moves it.
